It's time for the annual road block!!!

Each year our chapter goes out into the street to collect money for the Metro Police Department's Christmas Charity program. The community responds very impressively and we help a lot of families who wouldn't have a Christmas otherwise. It helps people who need it and reflects very positively on our chapter as citizens of the community.

We need a lot of help in the way of a big turnout from our chapter members. We need to cover a couple of shifts in several parts of the intersection, standing in the street to collect money and on the side of the street with signs. We need people to help hand out food and water to the people on the street. And we need people to pick up money from the people on the street and taking it to the counting room. There is a very real element that the more bodies we have on the street with smiling faces and waving to the people driving by, translates directly into more money raised.

We want to encourage you to meet at Fesslers Lane at 8:00 AM for a free breakfast and the kickoff. We will meet at the Ring of Fire shop at 9:30 AM to get everyone registered and organized (except second shift workers, who can get there 30 minutes before their start time). We will collect money from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and we have to end promptly at 2:00 PM because our permit ends at that time. Please wear your Ring of Fire colors and show your chapter pride.

KSU 7:30 AM - Those who wish to go to Fesslers Lane for breakfast are welcome to meet at the ROF Shop and we'll ride down together.

Our dinner rides begin on the first Tuesday in April and go through the last Tuesday in October. The dinner rides are held every other Tuesday Night, Rain or Shine. We meet at Boswells Ring of Fire and ride from there at 6:30 p.m. to a different restaurant each week. If you are new to the group or have never attended a dinner ride, you are missing a real treat. The size of the group changes from week to week but, we always have a good crowd. Each week a different person leads the ride and we take the most scenic route available. I can't stress enough how much fun these rides are. It is also a great way to get to know others within the group because it is a smaller group than the big ride events on the weekend. Remember, if it rains, come on anyway and we will head out in cars. Plan to attend a dinner ride this year and I promise you won't be disappointed!!!
